Sept. 1, 2021 This year, students at some high schools will be using OC Transpo for the first time. OC Transpo operates many designated school routes with numbers in the 600’s, as well as, special school trips on other regular routes. You can find out which routes serve your school by viewing the list of schools with their corresponding routes and maps on OC Transpo’s website. You can also find out more information on what tools OC Transpo offers that make it easy for you to plan your trip, view bus stop and route schedules, detours and cancellations and check bus arrival times. In advance of the Labour Day long weekend, here is what's happening with city services.
-The City’s 3-1-1 Contact Centre will be open for urgent matters only
-There will be no curbside collection of waste, don't forget to curb your trash a day after the usual day (except for multi-residential properties)
-All overtime parking, signed or unsigned, are not being enforced on residential streets.
All other parking restrictions are in effect.
-Buses will run on a Sunday schedule. Use OC Transpo’s Travel Planner to plan your trip.
-A permit is required to light a fire on private property anywhere in the City of Ottawa. Propane fueled appliances are exempt. Go to MyServiceOttawa for permit eligibility.
-Some indoor and outdoor pools will be open for public swimming, with modified schedules. Splashpads will be open until September 15th weather permitting. Beaches and wading pools are closed for the season.
- REMINDER: FIREWORKS are NOT permitted on Labor Day weekend.

Municipal State of Emergency is lifted

As of 12:01 am tomorrow morning, residents of Ottawa will no longer be under a state of emergency.
Step 3 re-openings continue and vaccination rates are climbing quickly with the walk-in clinics in full swing.

With the Province of Ontario now moving into the third step of its reopening plan on Friday, July 16, the City will gradually expand many of its in-person services – especially indoor recreation and cultural activities and programs.
