My Family, Staff and I wish You and Yours the Best of Health and Happiness this Holiday Season!

Dear Residents,

Due to current rapidly rising rates of Covid-19 and its variants, and out of an abundance of caution, it is with great regret that my family, staff and I will not be able to host our Annual Rick Chiarelli's Alcohol-free New Year's Eve this year.

Ottawa Public Health put out a letter last week to all owners and operators of outdoor recreational amenities to implement processes to limit capacity, ensure physical distancing and mandatory masking, etc.  (Read the OPH letter here: https://www.ottawapublichealth.ca/en/public-health-topics/public-health-orders-and-instructions.aspx)
As those families who have enjoyed ringing in the new year with us for the last 30 years know, we have thousands of people join us for the evening every year.  In practice, it would be impossible to go ahead with the event and still comply with the OPH directive.

While we are saddened to be unable to spend this time-honored New Years Eve tradition with our family and our residents this New Year’s Eve, we invite you to watch the 2020 Virtual Edition of this amazing event with your family from the comfort of your homes by visiting our website  https://www.alcoholfreenewyears.com/  or  https://youtu.be/dx5oUdtNTxU   You'll get to see a virtual showcase, a harp concert and the fireworks that have been part of the festivities for the 30 years my family, my staff and I have had the pleasure of organizing and hosting this event for the families and people of College Ward and the City.

We wish you a Happy and Healthy New Year!  We hope that next year this 30 year tradition will continue!
