Temporary Water Pressure Reduction in Bells CornersOttawa – Starting today, the City will be inspecting the watermain on Baseline Road, between Woodroffe Avenue and Beaumaris Drive, which is one of two pipes supplying water to Bells Corners. This routine maintenance procedure is expected to take six weeks and may result in a slight reduction in water pressure.
In order to avoid or minimize possible impacts on household water pressure, it is suggested that Bells Corners residents consider taking the following actions, where possible:
• Schedule non-essential water use outside of peak demand periods (7 to10 a.m. and 5:00 to 9:00 p.m.)
• Use only one major water-consuming appliance (such as a dishwasher or washing machine) at a time
• Avoid showering while a major water-consuming appliance is running
Taking these steps will allow residents to minimize impacts to their service.
The reduction in water pressure will have no impact on water quality, and regular consumption and use can continue throughout this period.
