Norice Street will be closed from Woodroffe Avenue to Sullivan Avenue starting at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, July 23. Norice Street will be open for local traffic only. Traffic restrictions will remain in effect until the completion of work, which is expected by the end of November.
Detours for motorists and cyclists will be clearly marked and commuters are reminded to exercise caution and drive within the speed limit. Pedestrian access will be maintained.
These closures are necessary to accommodate the installation of a new sanitary sewer system along Sullivan Avenue, Norice Street and Woodroffe Avenue. This $4.8 million dollar project will improve local wastewater facilities for residents.
This construction work is an Ottawa on the Move project. Ottawa on the Move is about keeping our community and economy moving forward through strategic investments in a number of transportation, water, and sewer projects to build a better city and create jobs.
